Maya H. Klein

Maya draws upon her professional experience and ethnic heritage to create contemporary menus influenced by Asian cuisines, incorporating exotic ingredients using Western techniques.  Following her work as a caterer and chef, she has developed and tested recipes for corporate clients, cookbooks, and her own cooking classes, revising recipes until they work every time and deliver the best dish with a minimum of ingredients and effort.  Maya believes a perfect menu touches all parts of the palate and offers an experience much greater than the sum of its courses, and that a variety of flavors and textures are essential.  As an avid gardener, she emphasizes the use of seasonal and local ingredients in preparations that allow the natural flavors of these foods to resonate.
