California - Bordeaux Taste Off with Lisa Shara Hall
If you’re serious about wine, this event is for you! On May 24, 1976, a wine tasting took place in Paris that changed the world’s view of California wines forever. The French wines were classified-growth red Bordeaux and white Burgundies. They were matched against California Cabernet Sauvignons and Chardonnays. The unthinkable happened. California trumped Bordeaux--in Paris!!! And it happened again in a rematch in June. We will hold our own blind taste-off. Come taste a line up of eight wines--2 whites and 4 reds. You will have to figure out which is which! Then decide for yourself which are the best. Enjoy them. Rank them. We’ll talk about them, trying to figure out their origins. And then we will reveal the wines. We promise these wines will be as good as you hope they will be: top California cabs and big name classified Bordeaux beauties side by side. Come and be a part of the tasting panel - and the fun! Antipasto Platter
