Christmas in India!

Join Leena Ezekiel for this celebration of her culinary heritage. Not only will you learn how to cook this incredible food of India, you’ll learn more about the geography and culture of this fascinating land.

Christmas is celebrated all over India, not only by the Christians but by people of all religions. It is a time for celebration and fanfare. Houses are lit with candles and oil lamps and just like the Hindu festival of Diwali, a lot of food and sweets are prepared to share with friends and family.

Gosht Seenghdar

Lamb chops, marinated in yogurt, cilantro and an array of Indian spices, then grilled to perfection

Masaledar Murg

Roast chicken with a spicy garam masala and ginger-garlic rub

Modur pulao

Sweetened rice cooked in milk and sautéed with saffron, dry fruits and whole spices

Bibinka

A layered dessert made with coconut and clarified butter, a favorite of the

Christians of Goa, whose food is greatly influenced by the Portuguese
