Wild Game 101 with Janie Hibler
Just getting into wild game and don’t know where to start? Come and learn all about it from the pro, Janie Hibler, author of the ever popular “Wild About Game” cookbook.
Janie Hibler, local award-winning author and food writer has had five books published: the bestselling The Berry Bible, Dungeness Crabs and Blackberry Cobblers, Wild About Game, Fair Game A Hunter's Cookbook, and Easy and Elegant Seafood. Janie was awarded the 1999 James Beard Award for best single subject book with her renowned Wild About Game, and The Berry Bible was nominated for a Beard Award.
Janie has taught and lectured extensively on game cooking and the food of her native Pacific Northwest. She is a judge in the Wild About Game event held annually in Portland and is the past president of the International Association of Culinary Professionals. She has conducted cooking classes nationally and appeared on TV all over the country. Janie is an active member of a committee working to establish a year-round Portland public market.
