Anne Willan founded La Varenne, the famous French cooking school in 1975 and directs its culinary programs at the Château du Fey in Burgundy and at The Greenbrier in West Virginia. She is well known on both sides of the Atlantic as an award-winning authority on cooking, with over 35 years experience as a teacher, culinary historian, cookbook author, and food columnist. She has written a wide range of internationally published cookbooks, including the influential La Varenne Pratique. Anne is currently on the board of Copia, The American Center for Food, Wine, and the Arts, in Napa, California.
