Olive Oil 101
Are you confused by the startling array of olive oils and don’t know where to begin? Many people are.
Now, you can put your fears to rest as you learn all about olive oil from one of the experts. Steven Dambeck, founder of Apollo Olive Oil, will offer a class on olive oil appreciation and history that makes the subject fun and interesting.
During the class you will taste different olive oils as Steve covers the following topics: How to taste olive oil; olive oil terminology; how to pair olive oil with food (which olive oil to choose for which dish); why olive oil has became a key ingredient in modern cuisine; and, past and present ways of making olive oil.
Steve lived in the Mediterranean for four years (in Greece and Sicily). Now he is an organic grower of cherries, apples, tomatoes and olives. He's been on the Education board of the California Olive Oil Council and teaches and lives in California. Apollo Olive Oil is an award winning organic oil from Northern California.
Instructor: Steve Dambeck Date: Friday, May 5 at 1:00 pm Fee: $10 (on day of class, fee will be credited to any purchase of olive oil)
