Hands on: The Seductions of Thai Cooking With Pranee Khruasanit Halvorsen
Pranee, a Seattle chef and well-known cooking teacher, will de-mystify Thai cooking with these popular and seductive Thai dishes. She will help you to understand the harmony of Thai cooking: balancing the four primary flavors of sweet, sour, salty and spicy in your everyday cooking. The class will also introduce you to the Thai herbs of lemongrass, galangal and Kaffir lime and learn how to incorporate them in different dishes included homemade fresh Phanang curry. The fresh scents of these herbs will awaken your taste buds.
Pranee believes that the best way to enjoy Thai food is to cook it and share it with friends.
She was born in Phuket, Thailand where she trained under her mother, a local chef. When she moved to Seattle, Pranee brought with her a mortar and pestle and filled her kitchen with Thai herbs, spices and cooking equipment. Pranee, owner of Ilovethaicooking.com, enjoys teaching Thai cooking throughout the Pacific Northwest. She visits Thailand annually to collect and preserve her family and home town recipes. Pranee is also working on her first cookbook.
