The Food Network's star kitchen strategist, Robin Miller, brings healthy, home-cooked meals back to weeknights. No one should have to choose between living life and eating well.  If the kinetic, multitasking frenzy of your typical day—meetings to run, kids to chauffeur, e-mail to answer—has left you with scant energy for anything more taxing than pushing buttons on the microwave, Robin Miller has the solution with Quick Fix Meals.

 

Food journalist, nutritionist,  and star of the Food Network’s Quick Fix Meals with Robin Miller as well as the author of six previous cookbooks, Robin is a kitchen strategist extraordinaire, and she’s compiled her gourmet game plans into "Quick Fix Meals". 

 

Robin's solution to the time dilemma is simple: make cooking “the UNcrazy part” of your crazy day by employing clever planning and prep work.  Stock your pantry, refrigerator, and freezer with the right ingredients, put in an hour on the weekend chopping veggies and precooking pasta, and you can whip up a different feast each night of the week in 20 minutes or less. The self-described “queen of prepping,” Robin has mapped out a huge variety of meals, breaking down each recipe into prep time, active cooking time, and “Walk Away Time” (that’s when the meal is in the oven and you get to run an errand, read a book—anything but slave over a stove). 

 

In the class, Robin will give you plenty of terrific ideas to make mealtime quick, tasty, and fun.  Best of all, Robin’s background as a nutritionist means that the recipes are as healthy as they are delicious.  She’s a pro at creating big, rich flavors without all the fat, and with two kids of her own, she knows how to concoct dishes that are both loaded with healthful grains and veggies and a hit with the kiddie crowd.  Robin also knows when to be flexible, offering scores of suggestions for substituting vegetarian ingredients, different herbs, or whatever cheese you have on hand.
