Gabriel Rucker

Butter Braised Chicken

In his recent class at In Good Taste, Gabriel showed us how to cook the most tender and moist chicken imaginable - all on the stove top. He first browned the chicken in the pan and then he added butter to the pan. As the chicken cooked, he spooned generous amounts of the melted butter - quickly - over the chicken making it truly delicious and moist.

Regina Hauser is our Lucky Winner
Our new system allows you to post online reviews of your cooking classes at In Good Taste.

The name of each online reviewer is placed into a drawing each month. Feburary's lucky winner is Regina Hauser who posted a review of Benjamin Bettinger's Stovetop Smoking class.
In Good Taste Cooking School Newsletter
Greetings!

We're looking forward to another month of cooking and more cooking, with a lot of fun thrown in. In February, we were lucky enough to host Gabriel Rucker, Benjamin Bettinger, and Jeremy Niehuss - all young chefs with lots of talent and plenty to teach us.

In March we look forward to some more inspiring classes featuring Raghavan Iyer, Tim Healea, John and Caprial, and Amelia Hard & Alison Bader.

Our month will also be consumed with planning for our 1oth anniversary ... read on ...
10th Anniversary
In Good Taste Cooking school

It's hard to believe but next month we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary. What a fabulous ten years it has been as we've watched the food scene in Portland grow and mature. We've enjoyed every minute of it and have especially loved the time that we've spent with everyone in our classes and our store. Stay tuned for the activities next month as we roll out the red carpet to celebrate you -- and our culinary stars.

The month kicks off with some great visiting culinary artists who will help us celebrate the anniversary. Throughout the month we'll host some wonderful chefs and feature new items in the store. Every day we'll offer some item or items at a very special price to continue our celebration. The month long activities will culminate in a cooking school open house on Saturday April 26.

Check out our web site for more details as they become available. We'll also publish specials in our weekly email. Sign up to get the weekly email today so you won't miss anything. The sign up box is on the left. If you already subscribe to our monthly email, just update the weekly email to your profile.

Pam Henderson, Store managerStaff Update
We have been overwhelemed with your good wishes for both Pam and Josie. Thank you all for caring and thinking of us.

Pam is doing really well and way ahead of schedule on her recovery. She has been in to work for a few hours at a time on a couple of days recently. We are so glad to have her back. She's ditched her wheelchair in favour of a cane and we can see her progress every day.

Josie RossJosie has a smaller cast on her arm now but she still doesn't have full use if it so she finds writing and typing a chore. That's pretty tough for a cook and a marketing person! She will start coming back to work soon and we can't wait to have her back!

James O'Keeffe More news....  James will graduate from college this May. Congratulations to him!

Over the last 10 years, your support has been an important ingredient in our success and we want to thank you for it. Your feedback, both positive and - well - not so positive, has always helped us do better. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Barbara Dawson
