* What do I need to do to prepare for my upcoming class?
We’re excited to have you join us for a cooking class.  We supply the food, equipment,
instruction and fun.  Here are a few tips to help you get ready for your class.
Location – we have 1 main location for our classes but occasionally do classes elsewhere so please be sure to check the location that your class will be held.  The class description lists the location to the side.  Please call us or email us if  you are unsure.
Hands on or demo – If your class is a hands on class, the words “hands on” should appear somewhere in the title e.g. Hands on Sushi. If it does not have those words in the title, chances are it is not a hands on class. Please call us or email us if you are unsure.
Parking – Parking is off street and usually there is ample free parking.
Shoes – For safety and sanitation we ask that all students wear closed toe shoes without heels in a hands-on cooking class.  Non-slip soles are preferred.
Knives – We have a complete set of Kershaw Shun knives for students to use during the cooking class.  You may bring your own knives, but we cannot assume any responsibility for lost or damaged knives.
Jewelry – We ask that students wear minimal jewelry during the cooking portion of the class.
Perfumes – Some people are very allergic to perfumes and colognes so we ask that you do not wear them to class.
Hair – We ask that long hair be pulled back during the cooking portion of the class.
Aprons – Please bring your own apron to class if you are taking a hands-on class.  We sell aprons at a discounted price ($6) if you need to purchase one.
Allergies and dietary restrictions – We can accommodate most allergies and dietary restrictions in our cooking classes.  We ask that students please contact us at least 7 days before their class to make arrangements.  Please contact us by calling 503.248.2015.

     * What happens if the weather is bad?
Bad Weather Policy: If there is bad weather in the area, we will make a determination to cancel class  no later than 2 hours prior to a class and will make every attempt to notify you by phone at the phone number you provided us upon registration.  If we are not able to speak with you in person, we will leave a message.  We encourage you to call us or email us if in doubt. Unless you hear from us at the phone number provided to us at registration, the class will be held. It is important to provide us with accurate contact phone numbers and email addresses when you register. We are concerned for everyone’s safety and will only decide to hold a class if we determine that the roads are safe. As long as the instructor and class assistants can make it to the school the class will be held.  There are no refunds, credits, transfers or exchanges because of bad weather providing the school is open with class running. Plan to leave home early, and please travel carefully. Any classes that are canceled will be rescheduled or you will be given a full refund.

     * What is your policy for cell phones during class?
Ringing cell phones and texting can be disruptive in a cooking class. We ask that you please turn your cell phone to "vibrate" while the class is in session.  We understand that you may need to make yourself available by phone, but please excuse yourself from the class and go outside to accept or return a call.

     * I have a dietary restriction. What should I do?
Please notify us before making the reservation so we can ask the chef if it is possible to accommodate your dietary needs. Wherever possible, we will be happy to make changes for you but with some menus, substitutions are not possible. We can only accommodate your request with at least 7 days prior notice.

     * How are seating arrangements made?
We will always do our best to seat everyone in your party together. On the day of the class, seating will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. If there's a particular seat you'd like, please arrive early to make your selection.  Important note: if you'd like to be seated with another party, please let us know prior to the  class so we can make arrangements. We will not move seated guests to accommodate a last minute request.

     * Can I attend my kids' / teens' class?
Our kids and teen classes are designed for kids and / or teens to have a unique experience with other kids of the same age. We respectfully ask that parents not attend the class with them as it does inhibit kids from being part of a group experience. We occasionally do offer adult / child classes so if you want to participate in one, by all means wait for those opportunities. Call us if you are not sure - 503-248.2015.

     * Why was my class cancelled?
Occasionally we have to cancel a class due to lack of interest. If you really want to take a certain class, register early to ensure that this doesn't happen.

If in any doubt, don't hesitate to call us at 503-248-2015. Please remember that you may only cancel if it is more than 7 days prior to the class, or within a month of a visiting guest chef class, or within two weeks if you booked for 3 or more people.

     * What is your cancellation policy?
Your registration is a commitment to attend the class. REQUESTS FOR REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS MUST BE MADE ONE (1) WEEK PRIOR TO CLASS TIME* (see exceptions). Cooking classes are like theater tickets: the show must go on, so we encourage you to send a substitute if you are unable to attend.
